Slice of Life is a regular update on the latest in my life. This is where I write about my books, movies, tv, food, fashion, family or whatever subjects are on my mind that week. It’s just a little glimpse of my slice.

  • Time to start putting together our school Valentines. I will likely go with cheap, easy and store-bought this year, but I did love reading this post for some easier “homemade” versions.
  • The next “must have” kitchen gadget? (Ha, only if they can make it less expensive.)
  • Can’t wait for new episodes of Better Call Saul coming next month!
  • I love avocados and I am a fan of tea, but avocado tea? (It’s a thing!)
  • The latest on American Dirt. I think threats of violence might be taking this a bit too far.

  1. Yeaaaaaah. I think it’s horrible that people are threatening violence against the author and publishers of American Dirt. That’s absolutely not the answer to ANYTHING, especially something like this. I haven’t read the book, but I’ve been reading the criticisms about it, and while I see some merit to what is being said about the book and how subject matter is handled, I don’t think it’s worthy of malice. Not much is, in my opinion. Except animal abusers. They should be thrown into the stocks immediately. 🙂

Speaking of tea: a friend brought me some Green Tea with Toasted Brown Rice from the Yamamoto tea company. It is sooooo good. I’m usually not a green tea fan, but I am loving it. It’s my new go-to cuppa when I don’t want tea with milk. I recommend it!

    1. It’s all gotten a little out of hand. The original criticisms were valid…so, why do people always have to take it too far? Whoa, that tea w/ brown rice sounds good! Will check it out.
