Slice of Life is a regular update on the latest in my life. This is where I write about my books, movies, tv, food, fashion, family or whatever subjects are on my mind that week. It’s just a little glimpse of my slice. (“But what about the great deals on books?!” Just keep on scrollin’.)

  • I have been struggling a bit to find some good background music for our new life at home. I find that we need something soothing but also easy to ignore. I found this app this week and could not be happier (plus, they are offering discounts!).
  • Other than the first week or two of this quarantine mess, I have been maintaining a pretty rigorous workout schedule. I cannot say enough about how much being active is saving my life. Loving workouts from my friend and neighbor, Anna (@LifeGirlFitness), and also found this really great website and app.
  • I don’t know about others but my new at-home schedule has me taking way more showers. However, I am actually washing my hair less. My favorite shampoo for washing less is actually on this list.
  • I am excited about Mother’s Day weekend and am planning on doing a lot of relaxing, reading and enjoying being outside during what will likely be one of our last cool snaps of the year (before the hotter-than-hell Texas summer is upon us). What are your Mother’s Day weekend plans?

16 Audiobooks to Escape into During Tough Times – My post on escape books was my most popular to date, so I decided to do one solely focused on audiobooks. {Pin this Post}

How We Are Stretching Our Time Between Grocery Trips in Quarantine – stocking up on groceries for more than one week at a time has been a challenge for us but this is how we are doing it. {Pin this Post}

Chicken Divan Recipe – an amazingly good chicken casserole that is also low-carb, on the healthy side, and can be made mostly with pantry ingredients. {Pin this Post}

Amazing Book Deals

Whether I have read (and loved) it, heard about it from fellow bookish friends or actually have it on my own “to be read” list, each book below made this list because it’s on my radar (AND because it’s on sale). Note: Book bargains are subject to change so act fast!

NOTE: My weekly book deals list will soon be moved out of “Slice of Life” and onto to its own page on my site. The new book deals page will be updated (and emailed to my mailing list) on a weekly basis.
