Slice of Life: Weekly Book Deals, Links and Tidbits

Farm at Sunset

Slice of Life is a regular update on the latest in my life. This is where I write about my books, movies, tv, food, fashion, family or whatever subjects are on my mind that week. It’s just a little glimpse of my slice. (“But what about the great deals on books?!” Keep on scrolling.)

  • Lots of events are being canceled due to the Corona Virus. This article has some good common sense precautions from an actual doctor.
  • We all should be making time to do nothing (and that does not mean watching TV or scrolling through social media). This is a tough one for me.
  • Is anyone following the controversy over My Dark Vanessa? This book is all over Instagram and the book blogosphere. Take a look at Sarah’s (from Sarah’s Book Shelves blog) review with linked articles about the issues.
  • Our Spring Break is this week and so we spent four days at our little farm in East Texas. It’s nothing fancy but it has a little rustic cabin and a few ponds where we fish and lots of woods to explore. This year, we even took our fishing kayaks and fished on a nearby lake. It’s the perfect spot to unplug from technology and enjoy nature and being together as a family. I got some reading done and also did some experimental dutch oven cooking (pictures below and recipes up on the blog soon!).

Amazing Book Deals

Whether I have read (and loved) it, heard about it from fellow bookish friends or actually have it on my own “to be read” list, each book below made this list because it’s on my radar (AND because it’s on sale). Note: Book bargains are subject to change so act fast!

NOTE: My weekly book deals list will soon be moved out of “Slice of Life” and onto to its own page on my site. The new book deals page will be updated (and emailed to my mailing list) on a weekly basis.
